Our Services

Colonoscopy

Colonoscopies are a common medical procedure that are essential for diagnosing digestive health issues. During the procedure, a thin and flexible tube equipped with a camera and light source, known as a colonoscope, is inserted through the anus and advanced into the rectum and colon.

Upper Endoscopy

Upper endoscopy allows doctors to evaluate symptoms such as persistent upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or difficulty swallowing. This test is the most effective way to determine the cause of bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract, and is more accurate than X-ray images for detecting inflammation, ulcers, and tumors in the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum.

Small Bowel Enteroscopy

Since evaluation of the small bowel is difficult due to its length and location, a longer scope is necessary for effective visualization, therapeutic and interventional therapies. This alternative to the more invasive open-abdomen procedure is used to help in the location of gastrointestinal bleeding as well as initial diagnosis of conditions such as Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

A flexible sigmoidoscopy is an exam performed to evaluate the lower part of the large intestine (colon). During the exam, a thin, flexible tube is inserted into the rectum. A tiny video camera at the tip of the tube allows Dr. Elbatta to view the inside of the rectum and most of the colon — about the last two feet (61 centimeters) of the large intestine. If necessary, tissue samples (biopsies) can be taken through the scope during a flexible sigmoidoscopy exam.

Capsule Endoscopy

Capsule endoscopy involves swallowing a small capsule with a camera inside. The capsule is about the size of a large vitamin and contains a light, a camera, and a transmitter. As the capsule travels through the digestive tract, it takes pictures of the inside of the esophagus, stomach, and small intestine.

Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy Tube placement

Placing a tube through the abdomen and into the stomach to provide nutrition and hydration. It is often used for people who are unable to take in enough nutrients and fluids through the mouth, either due to a medical condition or surgery that affects their ability to swallow.
